Water Scarcity - Middle East

In the Middle East, the issue of water scarcity is particularly acute because most of the region is already to the point that it consumes more freshwater than is renewable in its territory. In both the Nile basin and in Israel, these issues play an important role in regional politics and as their populations continue to increase, freshwater supplies per capita can only grow scarcer.
